Poor design Aug 01, 2011
By Peter Agarwal " The shade provided with the kit does not fit the older style recessed lights ( pre 2005). If you remove the old shade and install the provided shade it does not stay in place and falls off. I had to drill holes in the old housing to fit the provided trim and not use the new shades. Worst thing, R30 bulb is too short and stays 2" above the trim. I had to remove all trims and glass to install R40 as it didn't fit through the hole of the glass trim. One of the bulb burned out a few days later. I had again take the light out of the housing, remove the screws, trim and the glass. Reinstall the bulb without the glass, put the glass back, rescrew the trim and them put it back. Very poor design.
